Small Birds Drawn from Memory
Drypoint is one of my favourite print media, A form of engraving, it involves drawing into soft metal, usually aluminum, with a steel point and a number of specialist tools. The plate is then inked in the same manner as an etching.

Close up of Small Birds Drawn from Memory
Recently I have been working on several prints containing birds and I am often mistakenly seen as an amateur ornithologist. However, my interest is more in using these spontaneously drawn images as a means of connecting directly with my unconscious mind. All of my recent work has been about these 'internal landscapes' and having actual birds in sight to draw would impede the process.
